At a time when leaders need to empathize with their followers more than ever before, not being able to meet in-person is a key deterrent. One Gallup study<\/a> has shown that employee engagement rates are at an all-time high during the pandemic and associated restrictions. However, for it to be sustainable, meeting, and engaging with workplace colleagues is important. As a result, several organizations are turning to virtual alternatives.<\/p>\n Recently an organization, a global leader in medical technology approached AugRay with a brief to involve their employees and drive active participation during their annual employee meeting. AugRay used its Avatar Platform to develop an intuitive Augmented Reality (AR) solution<\/a> for near-personal interactions. The platform allowed the organization\u2019s Managing Director to enter the employee\u2019s virtual space to personally interact and communicate with a personalized message for these times.<\/p>\n The employees, safely at home, could scan a QR code shown in the virtual presentation using their smartphones. This would then open the smartphone camera application and position the 3D avatar of the leader virtually on their real space, delivering the message. This experience was completely seamless, and took just a few seconds to load, thus giving the employees an uninterrupted experience. All of this was made possible without the need for installing a new application on individual devices.<\/p>\n
